UI-VIEW32- APRS software (Remember to
register first, and honor Roger the author with a donation to cancer
research.)
http://www.apritch.myby.co.uk/uiv32.htm
NOTE:
Once you install UI-View32 and register UI-View32, shut it
down and go to
http://wa8lmf.net/aprs/UIview_Notes.htm
and do the appropiate changes listed there to UI-View32.
UI-View32 is an older progrem, but with the changes listed, it will
work very well.
IMPORTANT
NOTE: When using AGWPE or other computer PTT control methods, set the
time-out-timer function in your rig as low as it will go, or if not
equiped, build a PTT time-out-timer into your interface! Computers have
been known to "hang up".

Please be advised, that as you setup UI-VIEW32, by hitting your "F1"
key, help files will pop up for each window you are in. This is true
for each and every setup window.
The Online setup guide for AGWPE is a must read. AGWPE is a little hard
to setup, and does take a fairly fast computer. Take your time and
double check your settings. Make sure your input and output volumes
selections and levels are correct within Windows Volume control.
Dedicated users will probably want to use a TNC, which is a little
easier. If you are using a TNC, you will probably need to become
familiar with
it's own
settings. UI-VIEW32 will "set" it for you, but even then, sometimes a
command file edit is needed to make it work at it's best.
IMPORTANT!
Please go to
unproto.html
to set up you beacon and mesasge UNPROTO paths, as well as tips for

needed for internet only stations, but if you do decide to set up an
RF (radio) station, READ IT!
This page
inet.html will instruct you how

If you plan to use the UI-NWS function of UI-VIEW32, you will need the
shapefiles for it. These files go in the "C:\Program Files\Peak
Systems\UI-View32\NWS\Shapefiles" folder...
(WARNING: These are LARGE files...you need high speed internet, or do
it
late in the evening!)
The latest ones are at:
Counties (dated 16 March 2006)
http://www.weather.gov/geodata/catalog/wsom/data/w_16mr06.zip
(NOTE: The UI-NWS help file say this file should start with a "c". This
is a replacement file, and does contain the .DBF, .SHP and .SHX files
in the zip file.
Zones (dated 16 March 2006)

Think you might run more than one APRS station? Got a base and a
mobile? Planning on launching a ballon with APRS?
